10 Ft Ganja Plant - Bush Rock

(IT-RO8308)

"Bush Rock" shows the Plant growing to new heights, while keeping their feet firmly rooted in a warm 70's roots vibe. Standout tracks "Too Much Gun a Bust" & "Got To Be a Soldier" include powerful heart wrenching vocals reminiscent of the greats like Jacob Miller & Joe Higgs. Bush Rock is a well rounded reggae/dub excursion and features both heavy dub tracks and silky sweet songs like the Melodica driven "Machete Strike". Be on the lookout for 10 Ft. dates near the end of 2009!

Coming from ROIR Records July 28th, 2009

Bert Scholl - Letters to the Prison City

(IT-066)

Bert Scholl's deep resonant voice singing out heartfelt lyrics has resulted in a record born out of western tradition, living for today. Receiving a strong calling from Waylon, Willie, Johnny, and others among the living and the Dead, Letters to the Prison City continues down that long highway telling tales of yesterday and today.

Thousands of One - Soul Force

In the spirit of the funk movement, this album is "the message" of Thousands of One - it speaks of ending racism, growing food, and finding unity. Turning heads with intense lyrics - incendiary politics, spiritual tenacity, wit and dope phrasing - the soul and voice of Jhakeem Haltom bolstered by a rocking and raw band cutting cunningly original music that pays tribute to the roots of soul, funk and reggae... The explorations that are presented in this album show no boundaries; gospel juggernauts taking the starliner as far as it will go.

Malang Jobate and Nate Silas Richardson - BADEMA

(IT - 060)

Badema began in February 2006, when Gambian born Malang Jobateh visited Ithaca, NY upon the invitation of Nate Silas Richardson, known for his work with John Brown's Body, 10ft Ganja Plant, and the Sim Redmond Band. Nate had been studying the music of West Africa for ten years independently, and for one year privately with Mamadou Diabate (who has since become one of the world's most celebrated Kora players) and ngoni/guitar master Moussa Cissoko. After a week's worth of recording sessions and gigs Malang decided to skip his return flight and stay to create this CD. The music is a fusion of Malang's unmistakable Senegambian style and Nate's wide range of influences, which have never before been rendered together in such a way. Badema is a Mandenka word for the One Human Family.

coming October 16th...
