Silas
Uproot(IT-005)This CD is driven by the unique and sweet songwriting of Nate Silas Richardson. You may know him as the organ/lead guitar player of John Brown's Body, but he's a highly accomplished singer and songwriter in his own right. Nate began working on this CD while playing solo gigs around Boston under his chosen middle name, Silas. One fateful night in 1998 he opened a JBB show, and they have been making music together ever since. UPROOT features members of JBB as well as other extraordinary Boston musicians. The music is full of haunting dub, rocksteady rhythms, natural melodies, soulful singing and playing and highlights Nate's melodic approach to the guitar. The crowning jewel on this project is a crushing dub mix by Craig Rankin' Welsch. Artwork by Brenda B. Buck. Tracked at Kissy Pig Studios, Boston, MA. Mixed at Pyramid Sound in Ithaca, NY. As Nate is one of the busiest musicians on the I-Town circuit, you can also hear him playing on any 10 Ft Ganja Plant track, JBB's This Day, Among Them and Spirits All Around Us, Kevin Kinsella's I-Town Revival, Sim Redmond Band's Life is Water, Eliot Martin's Black Castle, Adonai & I's Adonai & I and Adonai in Dub, all I-Town Vinyl, and more to come... ![]() ORDER BY MAIL |
